Bioplastics: Environment-friendly materials and their production technologies

Objective: To analyze the recent contributions of bioplastics in addressing environmental problems caused by plastic pollution. Design/Methodology/Approach: A literature review was carried out on definitions plastics and bioplastics, sources raw materials, processing technologies methods to assess biodegradation. Current practices for final disposal and/or reuse were also examined. Special emphasis placed polylactic acid (PLA), one most widely used biodegradable materials today. Results: Over years, there have been significant developments as well create products. By using instead conventional plastics, it is possible reduce dependence petroleum mitigate pollution associated with production disposal. Furthermore, enhanced biodegradability ensures that they break down more readily natural environments, reducing accumulation waste its detrimental impact ecosystems. The plant fibers, biological polymeric presents an opportunity integration into productive activities agro-industrial sector. This brings several benefits synergies between agriculture industry. Study limitations/Implications: We provide a report based literature. Findings/Conclusions: notable current trend utilization viable substitute plastics. In order compostability these specific testing certification standards established reputable organizations. These serve reliable framework evaluating degradation characteristics bioplastics. adhering guidelines, manufacturers can ensure their bioplastic products meet necessary criteria sustainable use.
